About Us
This all started with a bike being stolen in college. Not wanting to put parts on a new frame and calling it building a bike, I was fortunate enough my dad knew Doug Fattic and introduced me to him. He agreed to teach me to build a frame, but first I had to build a jig. That started a journey that continues, searching for the next ride, how to make it better, or more enjoyable, or how to repair what has been damaged and broken.
Prior to this, we got our start in cycling (other than a way of independence and transportation as a kid), while in grade school, by wanting to backpack in the Hoosier National Forest. While the adults we knew wouldn't do that, they were willing to put our stuff on bicycles and ride for a week from state park to state park. Those of us involved have been hooked ever since.
College, took me to Michigan, where in addition to meeting Doug, I attended PT school at Andrews University. I have my MSPT from there (and have thirty plus years of...). With this background, I have an interest in Fit in cycling as well as general biomechanics and body mechanics, in addition to health in general. Fit does not necessarily equal Healthy.
Since then, I have been building bicycle frames since 1989 and have been working building and repairing carbon frames since 2005. I have displayed at some of the major US shows. I have been fortunate enough to work with some pretty cool people in PT and cycling.
I have been involved in Ukraine Bicycle Project since about 2001, making multiple trips to Ukraine and Europe in support of this project. The work is ongoing, despite the war, and we have faced a few other challenges due to the war, and the need is greater even at this point in time.
